CANNRA Urges Federal Engagement to prepare for the prospect of federal cannabis policy
CANNRA is encouraged by some of the federal efforts to learn from states in advance of federal policy changes. But more is needed. As we have seen across many states, preparation in advance of any policy change is imperative to thoughtful regulation and policy implementation. As a nonpartisan, nonprofit association of government cannabis regulators from across more than 40 states and U.S. territories, we strongly urge Congress to support federal efforts to learn from and build on lessons learned from state and local jurisdictions on the front lines of cannabis regulation. We believe certain activities detailed in the letter below would be useful in terms of preparing the Federal government for the prospect of federal cannabis policy change.
