This was CANNRA’s first annual External Stakeholder Meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to bring together a diverse array of national and international stakeholders from across the cannabis space to engage in discussions with CANNRA member regulators and other attendees on cannabis regulatory and policy topics. We purposefully sought to avoid an echo chamber and to engage groups that had differing viewpoints. Any nationally focused entity that CANNRA was able to identify who was working on cannabis policy, policy implementation, or regulation was invited. This included organizations working on the following topics related to cannabis: consumer and product safety, research, standards, technology, policy, advocacy, social justice, equity, data, legal issues, public health, compliance, and clinical engagement. Attendees were restricted to those groups working at the national and/or international level. Due to capacity, no state-level trade associations, coalitions, or advocacy groups were included. Although direct cannabis licensees were not invited, some were present at the meeting representing other invited organizations (e.g., trade associations, coalitions, advocacy groups).
